Fascinating recent article from our FT.com Recruitment section on the way the recruiting industry may change in the future. I was struck by the quote “There are more and more hurdles for candidates to get through, with various stages to the job application process – interviews and psychometric tests. The more organisations do this, the more jaded candidates will become”. In my experience, I’ve found that if I think the executive hiring process is boring and badly designed, no matter how good the job sounds in principle, I’m not going to accept the offer because somewhere along the line I’m going to encounter the organisational mind-set that devised that off-putting process – and it’s not going to reflect an organisation I want to work with.
